OUR COVERS HELP PROTECT AGAINST HEAT GAIN & HEAT LOSS - MADE IN THE USA
1. Cover and ship your produce in the early morning hours when ambient air temperature is lowest. It’s always best to cover and ship the produce as cool as possible.
2. A tie-down strap or stretch wrap film should be used around the base of the bin cover when transporting on a flatbed trailer to prevent wind damage to the cover.
3. Some fruits and vegetables do better with added ventilation. Consider cutting some small holes in the Frosty Binz cover to increase air circulation. Feel free to call us at 970-825-3494 for more information on how to cut the holes.
4. Consider pre-cooling or adding ice to your shipment to keep the produce cool. According to experts, a sixty-minute delay in cooling freshly harvested fruits and vegetables can reduce the shelf life by more than a day.
5. Try and reduce the time from harvest to shipping so that you lower the risk of produce spoiling before it reaches the destination.
6. Try and reduce the actual shipping transit time to as few days as possible. Also, ask about the inside temperature of the trailer and if possible, ship in a temperature-controlled reefer container.
Please test the covers with your food type or product before using. Shipping food is not an exact science as there are many variables to consider such as food type, transit time, ambient air temperature, humidity, ventilation, direct sunlight, and inside trailer temperature to name a few. Performance is dependent on environmental conditions and application; therefore, no guarantees apply. The cover material is FDA Compliant for secondary or incidental contact with foods as a packaging material. We, Frosty Binz LLC cannot guarantee favorable results and assumes no liability in connection with the use of our products. Questions? Call us at 970-825-3494
